Funding
Funding – We accept the 15 hours early education funding for 2, 3 and 4 year old children, as well as the 30 hour funding for 3 and 4 year olds, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria for these. Please see the funding page for further details, or email if you have queries. We are registered for tax free childcare payments.
Our Fees
As we are a charity, all of our funds go back in to the running of our preschool. Any profit we do make goes straight back in to upgrading facilities and buying new toys, resources and experiences for our children. We always strive to keep our fees as low as possible whilst providing excellent quality childcare and education.
We have spaces for funded 2 year olds at Kea Preschool. Most working parents with a child 9 months old and over will be eligible for 15 hours funded childcare.
30 hour funded childcare is available to working families. This can be used for 30 hours per week term time.

If eligible you will be entitled to access the 30 hours from the beginning of the term following your child’s 3rd birthday.
Free 15 Hours Entitlement:
All 3 and 4 year old children are eligible for 15 hours childcare funding.
It is available the term after your child turns 3 years old.
Families will receive 15 hours childcare for 38 weeks of the year (term time).
1st April and the 31st August he/she will become eligible from 1st September following his/her third birthday
1st September and 31st December, he/she will become eligible from 1st January following his/her third birthday
1st January and 31st March, he/she will become eligible from 1st April following his/her third birthday
You will be asked to provide personal information to verify this information. The setting will require to see:
A copy of birth certificate or passport of the child.
Parents’ National insurance number & date of birth
Additional 15 funded hours
Your may also be eligible for an additional 15 hours funding, on top of the 15 hours universal funding. This takes your weekly amount up to a maximum of 30 hours.
It is available the term after your child turns 3 years old.
Over the next 3 months you and your partner (if you have one) must each expect to earn at least:
£2,539 before tax if you’re aged 21 or over (equivalent to £195 per week)
£2,080 before tax if you’re aged 18 to 20 (equivalent to £160 per week)
£1,570 before tax if you’re under 18 or an apprentice (equivalent to £120 per week)
This is the National Minimum wage for 16 hours a week on average.

Funding at the Preschool
We reserve the right to make changes with immediate effect to this agreement and/or our offer of funding Entitlement to you if the local authority does not pay the government funding to us for any reason or there are changes to the amount of government funding.
Setting and Attendance details
Regulation allows your child to attend a maximum of two settings in a single day and if your child attends more than one setting the funding will be split between the settings. You will be asked to provide the following information for the preschool your child attends, nursery name, entitlement hours attended per day, total number of hours per week and total number of weeks per year.
By signing a parental declaration, you are confirming where you use your funded hours. It is your responsibility to only use the hours you are entitled to. If the LA advise the setting you are over claiming your hours, you will receive an immediate charge for the hours used at our hourly rate.
EYPP
Early Years Pupil Premium is an additional sum of money provided by the Government to help settings close the achievement gap which affects some of the most disadvantaged children. It is for settings to decide how the premium is spent as they are best placed to access what additional provision should be provided. The Government has extended the Pupil Premium scheme to include 3 and 4 year olds which is called the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP). For each child that qualifies, the preschool is able to claim extra money, £0.68 per hour to be used for the children’s education and learning. This additional money is paid to our preschool termly through the 3/4 year old funding entitlement.
Disability Access Fund Declaration
Three-and four-year old children who receive a child Disability Living Allowance and Free Entitlement may be eligible for the Disability Access Fund (DAF). Please see https://www.gov.uk/disability-living-allowance-children/overview. The local authority pays DAF directly to the setting as a fixed annual rate per eligible child. If applicable, please contact us for more information.

Tax Free Childcare – for working families. For every £8 you pay, the government top up £2 extra.
Tax Credits for Childcare – for working families. Up to 70% of childcare costs, up to a cap.
Universal Credits for Childcare – for working families claiming universal credit. Up to 85% of childcare costs
