Kea Pre-School

Our preschool runs during term time, but we also offer holiday care and before and after school care for our preschool children.

We provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment that promotes learning through play, using a wide range of resources, and the opportunity for children to develop their social skills as they play and learn alongside and with other children.

When your child starts Preschool it is an important time for both child and parents. We do a minimum of 2 settling sessions for children, but offer more if needed

Preschool Room routine

2 year room routine

We take a maximum of 30 children per session.  We believe that care and education are equally important in the experience that we offer children. The routines and activities that make up the day are provided in ways that:

  • help each child to feel that they are a valued member of the setting

  • ensure the safety of each child

  • help children to gain from the social experience of being part of a group

  • provide children with opportunities to learn and help them to value learning

  • Early Education

We strongly believe children learn best when they are happy, settled and having fun. During their time with us we want our children to be (or become) social, make friends, have self confidence, be able to manage their feelings and behaviour, be able to listen and understand, be confident in speaking to others, develop their fine and large motor skills and have an understanding of their own health and self-care. We plan ‘in the moment’, allowing us to spend more time with the children and less time producing unnecessary paperwork. For further information about this, see our separate page ‘Early Education’.
